Great product! but quality control issues…
    Andre Dunz 14.09.2024
The bass itself plays great. There’s adjustment screws for the top stack of keys, not common for most saxophones, unfortunately the bottom stack doesn’t have adjustment screws. On the bottom stack I had to redo the corks just to get the F pad to close all the way. After that the horn was golden in terms of playability, ergonomics could be better but there’s no competition, the quality control seemed to lack for this bass atleast. I had to redo the cork for the bottom stack, more corks on the palm keys since theirs was almost completely off. One of the biggest complaints I had was the floor peg, I could only get it through one hole and it would take an ungodly amount of force to get it through the other hole, I had trouble getting it out and had to lubicate it to get out. It also scratches the heck out of the floor peg. That was my biggest complaint. All in all the sound is there, it’s diffrent then a baritone sax sound. More dark, more open throaty sound in a good way. Atleast when I used the stock mouthpiece with a 3 Rico bass sax/contrabass clarinet reed. Sounds great for concert, maybe even orchestra. Many videos of the bass is usually pop, or jazz. But don’t underestimate it for classical, it sounds like a double bass with the expression of a cello. My real problem was the floor peg getting stuck and the bottom stack corks had to be redone. All the other corks were optional for noise reduction or comfort from what I saw. I wish there was a low a bass that Thomann sold, I would be glad to put down an extra 400 dollars for that note.

    Absolutely amazing!

This bass sax is a truly impressive instrument. The lower cost compared to other bass saxes in no way implicates the value, sound, and service. Once the shipment cleared customs for the US, it was here in like two days, and came a day earlier than even expected. It sounds great, has a wonderful case, and it truly worth every penny. I highly recommend this sax and would be happy to purchase from Thomann again in the future.
